We are New Englanders. You can probably hit all 6 states in 6 hours. Florida on the other hand is wide at the panhandle and long to the Keys. Deb’s dad wanted to join us on a little RV adventure. He lives in Port Charlotte an hour north of Fort Myers so we thought Key Largo would be a 4-5 hour trip so he can update really get a feel for it. Seemed like a good plan.
Fast forward to this summer and Red has a Marine Corp reunion in St Augustine right before our trip . Suddenly our 4 hour trip was 8 hours and traffic was nuts.
Despite the long day driving we enjoyed our few nights in Key Largo. Have a new appreciation for the size of Florida!
