I am a big history buff but Gettysburg was Derick’s idea. He had gone in the 1970’s with Boy Scouts and it made an impression. I also went then but remembered it less fondly! So glad we did.
It is a beautiful town surrounded by rolling farm land. Foliage was at its peak and made for a scenic drive. We had a day to visit the National Park and museum, then did the driving tour the next day.
